Sodexo is seeking a strong Food Service Operations Manager 1 for the United States Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton located in Oceanside, CA. The Operations Manager will report directly to the General Manager and will be responsible for day-to-day oversight of all culinary operations for one of its Mess Halls.

What You'll Do

• Have 3-5 years operational management experience in a high-volume food service dining environment.
• Be a people person with a strong focus on maintaining positive client relations; a solid manager/leader who is perceptive and has attention to details that make a difference quality and presentation of food customer service
• Be SERVICE focused including providing excellent customer service in a welcoming dining environment.
• Be proficient in use of online Food Management Systems for menu/recipe planning, ordering and inventory;
• Demonstrate proven financial acumen/success: Food costs/ labor costs, budgets.

What You Bring

• Have a work history demonstrating strong employee engagement and leadership skills, as well as previous supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively;
• Have a strong background in safety and sanitation compliance;
• Have high volume food service experience;
• Have contract food service experience, preferred;
• Have experience managing staff in a union environment, preferred;
• Have food service experience in a high-end establishment, preferred;
• Can manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and have a passion for a high level of customer service; and/or
• Prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
