Float Radiology Technologist

As part of Optum, you will float between various imaging and specialty practices. This is a unique opportunity to work in a flexible environment where you can grow and learn continuously.

Schedule: Monday to Friday with a flexible schedule, covering various locations in Nassau and some parts of Suffolk County.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures.
• Explain procedures and processes clearly to patients.
• Adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors for high-quality imaging.
• Use radiation protection techniques to ensure safety for patients and staff.
• Perform a variety of specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures.
• Process images, ensuring they meet identification and quality control standards.
• Prepare images for review by radiologists or referring physicians.
• Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on radiologic equipment.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• License or temporary permit to practice Diagnostic Radiology in New York.
• ARRT certification or willingness to obtain within 180 days.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1+ year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
• Experience with Epic EMR software.
• Orthopedic experience is a plus.
