Essential Functions of the Child Life Specialist:

• Assess patient psychosocial, financial, and environmental needs documenting findings as required.
• Conduct initial evaluations and re-evaluations during subsequent visits to tailor care to patient needs.
• Communicate significant findings and concerns to the supervisor and clinical team.
• Report any unsafe conditions promptly and implement patient safety initiatives.
• Collaborate in developing and refining the Plan of Care for quality, continuity, and effective discharge planning.
• Verify and implement the Plan of Care based on physician's orders and established standards.
• Adjust the Plan of Care in response to patient care issues identified during visits.
• Provide skilled interventions consistent with accepted practices as directed by the physician.
• Engage with patients and families in following the Plan of Care, ensuring their understanding and participation.
• Maintain communication with clinical staff, updating them on changes in patient data or needs.
• Participate in care conferences, contributing clinical suggestions for improving patient care.

Qualifications:

• Heartfelt commitment to serving patients and families with compassion.
• EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in relevant field with CCLS certification from the Child Life Council.
• LICENSURE: Current CCLS certification required.
• EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2 years of Child Life Specialist experience in a healthcare setting.
• REQUIRED: Reliable transportation; physical ability to move intermittently and lift at least 25 lbs.
