We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated Field Service Mechanic to join our team and provide on-site maintenance and repair services for heavy equipment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment, enjoys troubleshooting complex machinery, and values customer satisfaction. You'll be working independently in the field, diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring equipment is operating at peak performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and cranes.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections to prevent equipment failures and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Travel to customer sites to provide timely and efficient service, often in challenging environments.
• Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and documentation using digital tools or service software.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams to report findings, recommend solutions, and ensure satisfaction.
• Operate service vehicles and maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Adhere to company safety policies and OSHA regulations at all times.

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly pay: $36$40, based on experience and qualifications

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in diesel technology or related field preferred
• Minimum 3 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record; CDL preferred
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

This is a fully onsite position in Cedar Rapids, IA.
