This position is designed to support full-time entry-level opportunities available beginning January 2026 through December 2026 within the Memphis Business Unit. Successful candidates will be assigned to projects related to active work in the Memphis, TN area, as well as potential remote assignments throughout our region. Specific job assignments will be finalized one month prior to the start date.

Engineering Associate

Reports to: Project Engineer or Engineer

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist in reviewing and processing shop drawings, product data, and samples, ensuring effective communication within the project team.
• Manage communications regarding Requests for Information (RFIs), ensuring timely responses.
• Prepare estimates for changes in work, including evaluation of Change Order requests from subcontractors.
• Study and analyze contract drawings, specifications, and shop drawings for accurate installation and coordination.
• Maintain and update electronic contract documents and project logs.
• Distribute necessary construction information to relevant project personnel.
• Ensure timely release of materials and equipment for fabrication to comply with project schedules.
• Assist in creating close-out documents, Operations/Maintenance (OM) Manuals, and related materials.
• Engage in other duties and responsibilities as needed.

Field Engineer

Position Description: As a Field Engineer, you will collaborate with the field operations team to obtain, evaluate, and coordinate all information necessary to meet project requirements as outlined in contract documents. Your role is vital in ensuring that work meets safety standards, stays on schedule, and is constructed to the highest quality. You will safeguard Turner's interests throughout this process.

Reports To: Project Superintendent

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conduct line and grade work for building layout and control as necessary.
• Promote safety on site and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Maintain electronic contract documents for field operations.
• Prepare Daily Construction Reports (DCRs) for accurate project tracking.
• Review work as it is completed to ensure precision within accepted tolerances.
• Verify contract drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to guarantee proper installation.
• Assist in creating project as-builts.
• Perform additional assigned duties as needed.

Qualifications for a Field Engineer:

• Completion of two years from an accredited college with a focus in Engineering, Construction, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with an eagerness to learn and a solid ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Basic familiarity with scheduling programs is a plus.

Physical Demands: Job demands include regular sitting, using hands to operate various tools, reaching, and effective communication. The position often requires standing or walking, and occasional climbing, kneeling, or crouching. Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds is required. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, and depth perception.

Work Environment: The role involves working at construction sites, leading to exposure to moving parts, high places, fumes, outdoor conditions, and electrical hazards. Noise levels range from moderate to very loud.

Qualifications for an Engineering Associate:

• Completion of two years from an accredited degree program in Engineering, Construction, or related fields is preferred.
• Relevant experience in building construction or engineering is favorable.
• Teamwork and communication skills are essential.
• Proficiency in computer applications, data entry, and Microsoft Suite is required.
• Basic understanding of scheduling programs is desirable.

Physical Demands: Regular tasks include sitting, using hands for keyboard work, and maintaining mobility. Lifting and moving items up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally are necessary.

Work Environment: The work environment may vary, with a mix of office and remote settings. Occasionally, work may be performed on construction sites with related hazards. Compliance with safety policies and procedures is essential.
