Fabrication Welder

Fitter

We are currently seeking an experienced Fitter to join our team. The Fitter will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing structural components. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of shipbuilding principles, be proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings, and possess excellent welding and metalworking skills.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, layout, fit, finish, and repair complex fabrications according to work packages and product specifications.
• Work under the guidance of the shop superintendent to adhere to production schedules.
• Perform fit test evaluations, including cutting, beveling, and fitting tasks.
• Ensure the finished product meets pass/fail acceptability standards.
• Bring personal tools such as a tape measure, square, center punch, hammer, striker, and grinder.

Essential Skills:

• Proven experience in fitting or a similar metalworking role
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Familiarity with fitting materials, tools, and equipment.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.
