How You Make a Difference

Join the Team as a Forensic Psychologist!

Step into a role where your expertise makes a critical impact. As a Forensic Psychologist, you'll conduct court-ordered evaluations, including Competence to Stand Trial (CST), Criminal Responsibility (CR), aid-in-sentencing, and civil commitment assessments for individuals with suspected mental health challenges. Your work will directly inform legal decisions while supporting individuals served through complex mental health and judicial processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducts Forensic Evaluations

  Performs court-ordered evaluations, including commitment and recommitment, Competence to Stand Trial (CST), Criminal Responsibility (CR), aid-in-sentencing, and civil commitment evaluations.

• Provides Expert Testimony

  Offers expert testimony to the court as needed.

• Coordinates with Treatment Teams and Courts

  Conducts examinations related to CST and CR and collaborates with treatment teams and the judicial system.

• Supervises and Trains

  Supervises and trains psychology students and provides education to the clinical team as necessary.

• Ensures Accurate and Timely Documentation

  Completes detailed, professional, and timely evaluations in compliance with facility policies and standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

• Required: Ph.D. or Psy. D. in psychology from an accredited university.

Experience:

• Preferred: Three (3) years of experience working in a hospital or secure setting.

Licenses/Certifications:

• Required: Current license as a psychologist in state of practice and any other certifications required by the state to perform forensic evaluations.
