Huntsville Hospital Urgent Care is on the lookout for an experienced Medical Assistant to bring their skills to our dynamic team. We have multiple locations in Alabama, and this position will be based in Madison, Alabama.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in providing essential clinical care to our patients. Our full-time staff usually work a rotating schedule of 36-40 hours per week, consisting of 12-hour shifts on weekdays and sharing weekend duties. As a PRN (per diem) team member, your hours will be scheduled based on the center's needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Warmly greeting patients as they arrive in waiting areas, exam rooms, or any laboratory or x-ray rooms.
• Keeping patients informed about wait times and guiding them through the next steps in their care process.
• Identifying and addressing patient issues promptly while seeking assistance in emergency situations.
• Conducting follow-up calls with urgency and care.
• Supporting front desk personnel with patient check-in/out processes when needed.
• Obtaining and accurately recording vital signs, patient history (including past medical, family, social history, current medications, and allergies).
• Assisting with patient transfers as needed.
• Helping with procedures under the direct supervision of the healthcare provider.
• Ensuring thorough documentation procedures are followed and all patient visit records are completed.

WHAT'S REQUIRED?
To be considered for this role, you should have:

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS Certification.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
• A Medical Assistant Certificate is preferred.
