Experienced Cost Accountant - Selby Jennings

Cost Accountant Responsibilities:

• Cost Analysis & Reporting

  • Calculate and monitor standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
  • Analyze variances between actual and standard costs and report findings to management.

• Inventory & BOM Management

  • Maintain accurate records of inventory and bill of materials (BOM).
  • Ensure proper costing of components and assemblies used in box builds.

• Production Costing

  • Work closely with operations to track costs at each stage of the box build process.
  • Allocate costs accurately across departments and products.

• Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Support financial planning by providing cost data for budgets and forecasts.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and support lean manufacturing initiatives.

• Compliance & Audit Support

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
  • Prepare documentation for audits and support external/internal audit processes.

• ERP & Systems Integration

  • Use ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) to manage cost data and reporting.
  • Collaborate with IT and finance teams to improve system accuracy and efficiency.

Cost Accountant Requirements:

-need 2+ years of cost accounting experience

-or really good hands on application of cost accounting principles

-manufacturing experience is preferred

- CPA is not requirement but is a nice to have.
