Evening Diesel Mechanic

Vail Honewagon, a Waste Connections company, is seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Diesel Mechanic to become part of our expanding team in Wolcott, Colorado.

Compensation: $32.00-$45.00 per hour

Shift: 2nd Shift 12:00pm-10:00pm

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct repairs and preventative maintenance services. Perform inspections, diagnosing and repairing electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
Utilize vehicle computer electrical systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
Complete necessary paperwork using fleet maintenance software to document repairs, parts usage, and repair times.
Review and address repairs noted on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports. Perform safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
Provide service calls for emergency breakdowns.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
This role involves extensive physical activity, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects over 60 pounds.
Work may occur indoors in a shop or outdoors for roadside repairs. The environment is generally well-lit and ventilated, though it may require working in tight spaces and utilizing greasy or dirty tools. Basic safety precautions must be followed.
Employees may be exposed to various weather conditions, including frequent wet and/or humid situations, as well as fumes and vibrations. Noise levels are typically moderate.

Minimum Job Qualifications:
Valid driver's license (CDL preferred, but not required).
Proficiency in reading, writing, comprehending, and communicating in English.
Must possess personal tools necessary for the job.
