Overview:

As an Entry-Level Medical Laboratory Technician, you will engage in various patient testing and administrative tasks that support clinical operations within our healthcare system.

The Core Laboratory at our facility encompasses: Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis/Body Fluids, and Serology.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 2 PM to 11:30 PM, with a weekend rotation. Initial training will occur during daytime hours (7 AM to 3:30 PM) for approximately 12 to 13 weeks.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Guide patients in preparation for tests requiring fasting and address any questions they may have regarding the procedures.
2. Maintain laboratory equipment and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
3. Assist in teaching Clinical Laboratory Science students, Pathology residents, and provide training for new team members.
4. Monitor daily operations within your laboratory section or work area.
5. Engage in special projects and assignments individually or as part of a team.
6. Conduct a range of routine and standardized tests using established techniques and equipment, ensuring accurate specimen preparation and resolution of specimen issues.
7. Prepare reagents and assist in the development of standards and control materials while managing supply levels.
8. Document test results diligently and ensure proper record-keeping, reporting any abnormalities to your supervisor or the ordering physician.

Additional Information:

Education Requirement: Associate's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Technician, Chemical Science, or Biological Science.

Licensure/Certification Requirement: ASCP or AMT Board of Certification eligibility is necessary if you have an Associate's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technician, and must achieve BOC within a year. If holding an Associate's degree in Chemical or Biological Science, ASCP or MLT (AMT) Board of Certification (BOC) is required.

Experience Requirement: No prior experience is required.
