As an Entry-Level Driver Trainee, you will acquire essential skills necessary for a successful driver career, focusing on the precise and prompt distribution of products to various customer locations. Throughout your training, you’ll gain insights into warehouse operations and other essential functions as you prepare to become a McLane Driver.

As a Driver Trainee, your responsibilities will include:

• Positioning the tractor to attach the trailer and securing it.
• Driving safely in compliance with all regulations and company policies.
• Inspecting tractor-trailer equipment for defects before and after trips.
• Utilizing Driver Delivery Handheld devices for documentation of deliveries and product conditions.
• Training under the guidance of an experienced Driver Trainer at various locations.
• Maintaining driver logs according to DOT regulations.
• Assisting in unloading trailers and delivering products to customer premises.
• Completing other assigned tasks.

Your Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to meet the requirements of the McLane Transfer and Promotion Policy.
• Complete training and obtain Class A CDL within 6 months or less.
• Willingness to load, unload, and deliver all products ordered by our customers.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, reach, bend, squat, and stoop as required.
• Skill in reading and understanding labels, instructions, and bills of lading.
• Capability of performing basic mathematical calculations.
• Strong communication skills with customers, management, and team members.
• Experience safely driving a tractor-trailer and using necessary equipment.
• Strong English comprehension skills essential for safety and operational compliance.
