Responsibilities

  Collect and analyze project data to support transportation improvement projects.

• n

  Lead or assist in the design and development of roadway plans, specifications, design calculations, and technical documents.

• n

  Calculate quantities and develop cost estimates for various projects.

  n

• n

  Produce comprehensive plan sets for transportation projects.

  n
n
• n

  Collaborate with other design disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.

  n

• n

  Utilize excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to address project challenges.

  n

• n

  Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to coordinate with team members and stakeholders.

Essential Skills

n
• n

  Proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD Civil 3D.

  n
n
• n

  Understanding of site development, grading, drainage, stormwater management, and site plan design.

  n
n
• n

  Holds an EIT certification and has a background in civil design.

  n
n
• n

  Experience or knowledge in land development and project management.

  n
n

Additional Skills & Qualifications

n
• n

  BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university.

  n
n
• n

  0 - 2 years of experience in civil engineering.

  n
n
• n

  Previous internships with civil engineering firms are advantageous.

  n
n
• n

  Familiarity with MicroStation, GEOPAK/Corridor Modeling, and OpenRoads Designer.

  n

• n

  Knowledge of roadway design guidelines, standards, and specifications, particularly NCDOT, is beneficial.

• n

  Experience in NCDOT highway design is a plus.

  n
n

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
