Why Choose Us?
At Action Behavior Centers, our core values are learning, caring, fun, teamwork, and excellence. We promote a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative atmosphere where creativity flourishes, and both personal and professional development is encouraged.
We believe in the potential of every individual we serve. From helping children reach significant milestones to empowering our team's success, you will work closely with young children (ages 18 months to 8 years) in a supportive, center-based environment using ethical, evidence-based ABA techniques. With exceptional supervision, ongoing training, and a passionate team at your side, your daily impact will be meaningful!
Your Role as a Behavior Support Specialist
Implement individual ABA therapy to assist children with Autism in reaching their full potential by following treatment plans, collecting data, writing necessary documentation, and applying feedback from supervisors during observation.
Encourage the development of young children through engaging and enjoyable therapeutic activities.
Work collaboratively with your team to enhance treatment quality, safety, and create a fun working environment.
Engage children through play, movement, and imitation. This can involve activities like running, dancing, singing, or reading stories—keeping pace with the children's energy and fostering a joyful atmosphere.
Communicate effectively and positively with everyone involved (e.g., peers, families, supervisors) to coordinate activities, celebrate achievements, and express personal needs.
Requirements
Ability to lift and move with children in a fast-paced setting, including the ability to lift up to 30 lbs, bend to pick up items, squat, move quickly on the floor, and run to maintain engagement with young children while ensuring safety.
Maintain a therapy-conducive environment by keeping play areas tidy and organized to ensure a stimulating experience.
Ability to multitask and manage several actions, decisions, or conversations while prioritizing safety for all involved.
Support teams cohesively across the center, neighborhood, and region, which may involve traveling to nearby centers as required.
Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are necessary.
Must be at least 18 years old and possess a High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Complete the RBT certification process within 20 days of employment by passing a 40-hour training course, a hands-on competency assessment, and passing the board's exam.
