Position Details:

Schedule: Days, 5x8s (6:30 AM - 3:00 PM)
No nights, weekends, or major holidays.
Specialty: ENT and cross-training in other specialties.

Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Clinical Director and adhering to department policies, the ENT Surgical Tech will:

Prepare for scheduled operations, arranging sterile instrument setups.
Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, holding retractors, and maintaining sterile conditions.
Clean operating rooms, inspect and sterilize instruments, and manage equipment and supplies.
Display competency in fewer than five surgical services, including ENT, General, Plastics, Ortho, Podiatry, Gynecology, GU, Eye, and Oral Surgery.
Maintain high standards of patient safety, aseptic techniques, and adherence to AORN and AST guidelines.

Duties Include:

Scrubbing for cases and assisting in setting up back tables and mayo stands.
Counting instruments, sponges, and needles during surgeries.
Receiving and handling surgical specimens appropriately.
Assisting with post-operative cleanup and equipment storage.
Acting as a resource for students and new employees.
Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Tech.
Knowledge of sterile techniques and operating room procedures.
Ability to read and interpret surgical schedules and prepare for procedures.
Strong interpersonal and analytical skills to perform effectively in high-stress situations.
Familiarity with anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
A commitment to professional development and continuous learning.

Working Environment:

Operates primarily in surgical suites with minimal exposure to noise, dust, and extreme temperatures.
Exposure to infectious diseases is mitigated by adherence to safety protocols and use of protective equipment.
