Engineering Technician

Insight Global is currently seeking an Engineering Technician for a permanent full-time opportunity in the Maysville, KY. This individual will be supporting and working alongside a variety of engineers and will need to be comfortable with working within a database. They will be providing database administration for cloning, backup, and recovery of all engineering drawings and providing technical support for software applications and specialized hardware used within the document center. Primary responsibilities include creating & maintaining all data files associated with all project design drawings, and researching & implementing new technologies for process improvements in terms of drawing management, drawing as-builts, and database management. They will also be responsible for marking up and reviewing drawings in AutoCAD.

3+ years of professional working experience a programming language (Visual Basic is preferred)
Professional working experience with GIS or any mapping software
Professional working experience at an electric utility company
Professional working experience with SQL
Associates degree in engineering technology or related degree
5+ years of professional working experience with AutoCAD, Solidworks, or MicroStation
Professional working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
Professional working experience with all various engineers
