Engineering Technician

The role involves critical materials testing and observation services on projects such as roadways, bridges, airports, large commercial developments, and remediation.

The position requires performing field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials including soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel.

Conduct testing, observation, and inspection as directed in accordance with training and specified procedures.

Provide clear documentation of findings and results.

Perform basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submission to the Project Manager.

Communicate information to the Project Manager and other personnel as directed.

Demonstrate experience and proficiency in multiple areas of field testing and inspection or laboratory testing.

Train lower-level technicians as needed.

Lead activities of other engineering technicians in the laboratory or on larger field projects.

Maintain and calibrate equipment.

Transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.

Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in written and digital reports for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.

Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.

Assist with scheduling and dispatch of technicians to project sites.

Adhere to strict safety standards.

Drive a vehicle such as a Ford F-150 or equivalent.

Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent training and related experience.

Experience with laptop computer use and Microsoft Word and Excel.

ACI certification in one or more of the following: Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I, Concrete Strength Testing Technician, nuclear density gauge, RRO, AWS, CWI, ASNT Level II.

Proficiency in engineering framework and moisture testing.

Ability to work independently and lead teams effectively.

The pay range for this position is $21.75 - $32.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Buffalo, NY.
