nResponsibilities
nThe Engineer operates, maintains and repairs physical plant systems, buildings and equipment. The Engineer performs general maintenance throughout the facility.

- All equipment functions properly and safely to support effective delivery of services and care.n
- n
- Repair and maintain equipment in all areas of buildings. n
n - Building systems, structures and fixtures are maintained in a usable, attractive state and provide for the comfort of customers.n
- n
- Operate, maintain and repair physical plant systems and buildings. n
- Demonstrate knowledge of physical plant systems. n
- Move furniture and equipment. n
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of engineering areas. n
n - Fire safety and other life safety systems are fully maintained and properly tested, providing for the safety of all individuals entering hospital buildings.n
- n
- Maintain and test fire and life safety systems. n
- Conduct fire drills. n
- Demonstrate knowledge of fire and life safety systems. n
n
- n
- Work orders and maintenance requests are prioritized and processed to meet the needs of customers.n
- n
- Prioritize and complete work order and maintenance requests. n
- Process appropriate paperwork documentation. n
- Plan and purchase materials for completion of maintenance and work orders. n
n - Written and verbal communication is clear and appropriate, fulfilling the needs of the customer/recipient and enabling them to make decisions or take actions.n
- n
- Establish open and appropriate communication with customers, co-workers and supervisors. n
- Report any unsafe conditions found in work area to the appropriate supervisor. n
- Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings. n
- Complete records of maintenance and work order completions. n
- Complete parts order, issue purchase order numbers and obtain packing slip/service receipt for all purchases or services. n

Qualifications
nEducation:
n- n
- High school graduate or equivalent n
Experience:
n- n
- Minimum four years work experience at journeyman level with comparable equipment and systems or completion of apprenticeship program. n
- Hospital engineering experience preferred. n
Licensure
n- n
- Current valid applicable state driver’s license and a driving record that meets insurance carrier requirements. n
- Limited Maintenance Industrial Electrician license preferred. n
Pay Range
