Physicians Care is seeking an energetic and skilled Medical Assistant to become part of our dynamic team. With 12 locations across Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee, we are proud to be affiliated with Urgent Team, one of the largest independent operators of urgent and family care centers in the Southeast.
About Physicians Care:
Our convenient walk-in centers offer a wide range of healthcare services, including injury and illness treatment, occupational health, and wellness care. Our centers are open seven days a week, providing accessible care when you need it most. We are an Accredited Care Center by the Urgent Care Association, highlighting our commitment to safety, quality, and comprehensive service.
Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in delivering quality clinical care to our patients. Full-time team members work a rotating 36-40 hour week schedule, which includes 12-hour weekday shifts and every-other weekend. Our PRN positions are filled on an as-needed basis, offering flexibility.
Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities below outline the main expectations for this role but are not exhaustive. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed:
- Warmly greet patients as they enter the waiting area, exam, and procedure rooms.
- Maintain open communication with patients regarding wait times and guide them through the care process.
- Address patient issues effectively and seek assistance in critical situations when necessary.
- Execute prompt follow-up calls, demonstrating a sense of urgency.
- Collaborate with front desk staff to assist with patient check-in/out procedures.
- Accurately obtain and document patient vital signs, history, current medications, allergies, and other relevant information.
- Support patient transfers and assist with procedures under the direction of the provider.
- Adhere to documentation procedures, ensuring the completion of all required records related to patient visits.
What’s Required?
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Medical Assistant Certificate or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience is preferred
- BLS Certification
