Endocrinology Nurse Practitioner

The Division of Endocrinology at Albany Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Practitioner with strong interest in diabetes care to join our outpatient team. Hours are Monday-Friday from 8am-4:30pm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Evaluate and manage patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders, including diabetes, thyroid disease, osteoporosis, and adrenal/pituitary conditions
• Order, interpret, and follow up on labs and imaging
• Develop and monitor treatment plans in collaboration with supervising endocrinologists
• Support patients with thyroid disease, osteoporosis and other common endocrine conditions
• Provide patient education on disease management, lifestyle, and medication use
• Work closely with our physicians, nurses, and care team to ensure high-quality, coordinated care

Qualifications:

• Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Current certification as a nurse practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
• Current NYS licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (or eligibility)
• Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) certification preferred; candidates must be willing to obtain certification within a specified timeframe if not already certified.
• Prior experience in endocrinology, primary care or diabetes management preferred; motivated new graduates encouraged to apply
• Strong communication, organizational, and clinical skills
• Commitment to patient-centered, outpatient-focused care
