Job Summary: The position oversees the operational functions of the Behavioral Health evaluation ED team at Carroll Hospital. In addition to all responsibilities of the Emergency Psych Evaluator: Oversees the daily activities of the ED social workers/counselors ensuring department standards are met, and provides real-time mentoring, advisement, and education to the ED SW/Counselor team. Work with the Social Work Supervisor on the day-to-day activities of the ED SW/Counselor Team, including but not limited to assisting in creating/maintaining staff schedules. Quality and productivity monitoring of staff work and documentation in the EMR, including but not limited to EMR audits. Guide staff towards desired outcomes setting high performance standards and delivering quality services. Assist with hiring and orientation of the ED SW/Counselor team. Strong organizational skills and ability to proactively prioritize needs and effectively manage resources with positive outcomes. Coordinates behavioral health emergency services with LBH's inpatient behavioral health units, the Emergency departments, and other hospital departments. Regularly meet with key ED staff to ensure effective and efficient coordination of services. Assists in developing protocols and best practices in the ED with behavioral health patients focusing on throughput. Meets with outside agencies to ensure effective communication around patient assessments and dispositions
