Amergis Healthcare Staffing is proud to partner with a school in Palmer, MA, currently seeking a Special Education Teacher to support their substantially separate STEP program, a therapeutic classroom serving students in grades K4. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a structured and supportive educational environment.

Position Overview

As a Special Education Teacher in the STEP program, you will be responsible for lesson planning, classroom management of students and support staff, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, writing IEPs and progress reports, and attending IEP meetings. The caseload will include up to 12 students in a sub-separate setting.

Schedule

Monday Friday | 8:30 AM 3:00 PM Start Date: August 27, 2025 Pay Rate: Up to $60/hr

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction in a therapeutic classroom setting
• Manage classroom and support staff
• Develop and implement IEPs
• Write IEP progress reports and attend meetings
• Collaborate with other departments and service providers
• Support students with emotional and behavioral needs

Qualifications

• Active MA DESE license in Mild/Moderate or Severe Disabilities
• Experience in therapeutic or sub-separate classroom settings preferred
• Strong skills in collaboration, classroom management, and documentation
