Job DescriptionAmentum is seeking an Electrician located in the Williamsburg area of Virginia. The Electrician performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy. The specific position will be determined during the hiring process.

Job Requirements:

Knowledge of NEC code required.
Ability to read blueprints, manuals, and construction drawings.
Performs all facets of electrical installations.
Troubleshoots equipment for electrical issues to prevent malfunctions and/or identify opportunities for improvements.
Responsible for troubleshooting electrical issues, repairing, replacing, and maintaining the electrical wiring and circuits on assets on the base by responding promptly to equipment breakdowns and repairing the machinery's electrical components in a timely manner.
Knowledge and experience working with voltages up to 480 V.
Maintain and repair as needed all indoor / outdoor lighting systems to include all associated controls and to maintain and repair electrical distribution system in base buildings.
Repair and replace as needed motors, contacts, relays, motor starters, and motor sheaves, wiring as it pertains to HVAC equipment.
Skilled in use of tools common to the trade including electric meters
and hand and powered tools.
Performs preventive maintenance for electrical fixtures throughout base.
Performs general maintenance tasks necessary for repair at the property.
Responds to maintenance calls, troubleshooting and repairing issues.
Runs new power/cables, and performs project work for the base.
Prepares estimates, man hours, materials used and orders items needed for job completion or inventory replacement per established procedures.
Follows all policy, procedures and service standards and complies with all current related safety and health requirements.
Ability to work independently or in a team-driven setting.
Basic decision-making skills; uses independent judgment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Must be able to climb stairs and ladders to include extension ladders
repetitively during the shift

Minimum Qualification Requirements

High school Diploma or GED
Valid Drivers License
US or Naturalized Citizen
Journeyman License (any state) or 3 years of experience.
Must hold government issued clearance at time of application.
Experience with installing and troubleshooting low voltage/control wiring is highly desired
