Electrical Estimator

Creating accurate and complete quantity take-offs from scratch for commercial and industrial jobs of all sizes in a timely manner is a key responsibility. These take-offs are then input into an estimating format to support project planning. Collaboration with in-house engineering teams is essential to develop plans and estimates for Design Build and Design Assist projects. Drafting bid proposals and monitoring competitor activities help maintain a proactive approach to future estimates. Staying informed on current material and subcontractor pricing ensures both profitability and competitiveness. Regular meetings with customers and Project Managers are held to discuss project details and expectations, while negotiations with customers are conducted to secure project awards. Additionally, reports on bids won or lost are provided to upper management, and productivity goals are met by producing accurate bids, winning projects, and maintaining a minimal margin of error.

Required Skills & Experience
• A strong electrical background and thorough knowledge of electrical systems, ideally with 5+ years of experience.
• Tech-savviness and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools and processes (Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, ConEst).
• Determination, intelligence, and a proactive attitude.
• Willingness to learn and grow in the field of estimating, if not already experienced.
