Electric Transmission Design Engineer

Join our dynamic team as an Electric Transmission Design Engineer , where you will be at the forefront of solving exciting challenges in electric transmission. As a key member of our team, you will play an integral role in the design of extra high-voltage (EHV) overhead and underground systems for leading utilities nationwide.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Applying industry standards such as NESC, ASCE, ACI in the design of electrical overhead and underground systems.
• Engaging in voltage conversion projects, new capacity projects, and infrastructure replacement projects.
• Conducting engineering analyses and preparing comprehensive bidding documents.
• Drafting plans and specifications, as well as preparing material procurement and construction documents.

You will collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary Leidos team and interact with clients, project planners, environmental specialists, permitting experts, and construction management personnel.

Work Location : Charlotte, NC area with a hybrid work schedule. Candidates must reside in the greater Charlotte area.

Required Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 1 year with a Master's degree.
• Ability to work effectively in both team settings and independently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate efficiently with clients and project teams.
• Willingness to work in client offices and/or travel as needed.

Desired Experience:

• Experience with TOWER is advantageous.
• EIT or PE certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with LPILE, FAD, Mathcad, AutoCAD or MicroStation, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is beneficial.

Pay Range: $57,850.00 - $104,575.00
