Electrical Engineer Lead

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer with a strong interest in Power Delivery and Renewable Energy projects. You will play a key role in designing and executing electrical systems for a variety of facilities including substations, solar farms, battery storage units, data centers, and hydropower stations. This position offers the opportunity to cross-train across multiple disciplines, gaining expertise in substation design, power generation, and distribution systems.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate single or multidiscipline engineering teams throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Supervise and mentor entry-level engineers.
• Manage large, complex projects or multiple medium-sized projects simultaneously.
• Maintain client relationships and participate in marketing, design, and production meetings.
• Facilitate collaborative work sessions with stakeholders to develop deliverables.
• Oversee staffing and workload planning to ensure timely project completion.
• Monitor project budgets and schedules, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
• Conduct periodic reviews with Accounting, Operations, and Business leadership.
• Implement and uphold QA/QC procedures.
• Mentor junior project managers and contribute to team development.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Skills:

• Substation design

• Electrical engineering fundamentals
• EIT or PE certification
• Protection & control systems
• Schematic design

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
• 25+ years of experience in substation or utility engineering
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment

Job Type & Location:

This is a Permanent position based out of Lexington, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
