ED Nurse Fellowship

Overview
The Nurse Graduate works under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager or the appointed Charge Nurse for the assigned area. The Graduate Nurse is a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, but has not received licensure.
Qualifications
Required Education:
GED or High School Diploma AND documentation from an Accredited School of Nursin confirming graduation eligibility (ASN/ADN or BSN) and transcript release date must be provided. Degree or official transcripts from an Accredited School of Nursing, confirming graduation, required within 60 days from date of hire/transfer.
Graduate Nurse Letter from the Florida Board of Nurses
Authorization to test by the examination vendor

Required Licensure/Certifications
• Must obtain License to practice nursing in the state of Florida within 90 days graduation from an Accredited Nursing Program
• BLS from the American Heart Association is required for all areas.
• ACLS from the American Heart Association is required at hire or transfer for the following departments: Arrythmia Service ), Cardiac Holding Area ), Cardiology Interv North ), Code Blue Team ), Emergency Department Admin ), Emergency Department North ), FC Gastroenterology ), Flight Services ), Flight Services Lake City ), Float-ICU (Flex) ), Invasive Cardiology Lab ), Operating Room ), Operating Room Administration ), Ophthalmology ), Outpatient Surgery Center • FC ), PACU ), Pain Management Center ), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit ), Pre Op ), Radiology Special Procedures ), Surgery Center Nort ), Trauma Center ), TraumaOne Flight Svcs South )

• PALS from the American Heart Association is required at hire or transfer for the following departments: Flight Services ), Flight Services Lake City ), TraumaOne Flight Svcs South ).
• PALS from the American Heart Association is required within six (6) months of hire or transfer for the following departments: Code Blue Team ), Emergency Department ), Emergency Department Admin ), Emergency Department North ), Float-ICU (Flex) ), Operating Room ), Operating Room Administration ), Ophthalmology ), Outpatient Surgery Center • FC ), PACU ), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit ), Pre Op ), Radiology Special Procedures ), SICU ), Surgery Center Nort ), Trauma Center ). Effective July 1, 2018, existing employees are required to have PALS by December 31, 2018.

• Graduate Nurse's entering a fellowship must obtain their ACLS, PALS and NRP within six (6) months of hire or transfer.
• Crisis Prevention Institute training within ninety (90) days of hire or transfer into the position, and then annually, is required for Psych Unit.
