Driver Helper / Labor Support

Elko Sanitation , a Waste Connections company, is seeking a motivated and safety-oriented Labor Support / Driver Helper to join our dedicated team.

Schedule: 4 days a week - Enjoy your Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays off!

Start time: 4:30am, completing your route whenever it is done. (10-11 hours per day)

**To qualify for employment, a clean driving record, successful criminal background check, and passing a 5-panel drug screening are required.**

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lift and service customer containers at the back of the truck
• Utilize route tablets/sheets and ensure each customer is serviced as instructed by the dispatcher
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT regulations, checking fluids, safety equipment, lights, and tire pressure
• Operate hydraulic hand controls for trash collection and disposing of refuse at designated facilities
• Assist with container delivery, commercial, and residential service routes, bulk item pickups, and other duties as needed
• Drive non-CDL vehicles on specified routes
• Maintain courteous interactions with customers and undertake other job-related responsibilities as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Extensive physical activity involving heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling of objects over 100 pounds
• Frequent mounting and dismounting of the truck throughout the day while on route
• Exposure to weather conditions, including wet and humid environments, as well as noise and vibrations
• Position may involve some exposure to mechanical parts requiring basic safety precautions

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (MVR)
• Must pass a criminal background check
• Must pass a drug screening
• Working knowledge of D.O.T. regulations
• Ability to read, write, and understand reports to complete daily assignments in English
