Job Title: Drafter Job Description

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Drafter to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering staff to assist in the preparation, editing, and execution of design documentation using native PLM and PDM systems. The role is pivotal to enhancing team productivity and involves generating technical documents and verifying their accuracy. Additionally, the Drafter will prepare first draft change orders for engineering review and submittal.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering staff to prepare and edit design documentation.

• Generate and verify the accuracy of technical documents.

• Prepare first draft change orders for engineering review.

• Assist in data entry and correction across software systems.

• Create pivot tables and conduct high-level data analysis.

• Engage in drawing pushes and create assembly drawings, both simple and complex, using SolidWorks.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in SolidWorks and NX CAD.

• 3+ years of experience in technical documentation roles.

• Experience with PLM systems such as Teamcenter and Arena.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables.

• High attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in the Engineering/Manufacturing industries.

• Background in Aviation or Military.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office.

• Ability to work remotely, in-office, or in a hybrid setting.

Work Environment

The Drafter will work in an urban industrial office space, with the team moving to a new 65,000 Sq. Ft building in South Austin. The standard work hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5/6pm, with flexibility to accommodate early starts or late finishes when necessary. The workspace offers high-level technology and opportunities for growth in a smaller company setting. Dress code is business casual, and the role supports remote work via VPN.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
