In this highly visible role, you will be owning the effort to develop the custom ICs for future Apple VR displays: defining display silicon architecture & requirements, working with external vendors as well as internal design teams for all phases of the silicon development, validating silicon functionality & performance in the module and system, and qualifying the ICs for mass production.

Description

As a Display Silicon Architect owning the chip architecture and specification in a chip design, you will have responsibilities spanning all aspects of display silicon design

  Architecting the display silicon and display sub-system

  Establishing display driver IC critical blocks design rules and guidelines

  n

• n

  Providing analysis to drive design rules and guidelines

  n

• n

  Authoring display silicon engineering requirements specification

  n

• n

  Working with the silicon teams to perform and review simulation

  n

• n

  Defining the roadmap for the next generation display silicon and display subsystem

  n

• n

  Managing silicon and system level risk and performance tradeoff

  n
n

Minimum Qualifications

n
• n

  Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering or related field with a minimum of 7 years of relevant industry experience

  n
n
• n

  Experience in IC design & architecture experience

  n
n
• n

  Experience leading chip design and integration

  n
n
• n

  Experience with analog, digital & IC design fundamentals, and/or rigorous process development and analytical methodology, which lead to high quality design

  n
n

Preferred Qualifications

• n

  Master's or PhD. in related field with some industry experience

  n
n
• n

  Effective written and verbal communication skills

  n
n
• n

  Fast learner with strong problem-solving skills

  n
n
• n

  Experience with either analog IC design (e.g., designing high-performance Op Amps, LDOs, OSCs, DAC, ADC, and other analog building blocks) or digital IC design, including experience in FPGA and firmware development.

  Experience in display silicon and system

  n

• n

  Experience in developing and manufacturing high volume products

  n

• n

  Experience in vendor technical management

  n

• n

  Knowledge in electronic displays, image quality, or graphics subsystem

  Ability to conduct experiments during silicon debug, gathering and analyzing data

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
