Disability Leave Specialist

Our client, a leading organization in employee health and benefits management, is seeking a Disability Leave Specialist to join their team. As a Disability Leave Specialist, you will be part of the Human Resources department supporting employee absence management initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Disability Leave Specialist
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Pay: $17/hr W2
Duration: 12 months (potential to extend/convert)
What's the Job?

• Manage employee absence cases through effective communication and adherence to applicable regulations and policies.
• Provide guidance and counseling to stakeholders including HR, managers, and employees regarding leave processes and options.
• Perform transactional duties related to absence management, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Participate in departmental projects to meet organizational objectives and improve absence management strategies.
• Monitor case progress, ensuring milestones such as benefit change dates and leave exhaustion are achieved and documented properly.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, healthcare administration, psychology, or related field.
• Minimum of one year of experience in case management, medical terminology, or human resources preferred but not required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction across all organizational levels.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, analyze cases, and resolve conflicts efficiently.
