Overview

Director, Product Management, WES, WGS at Baylor Genetics. Coordinate, manage, and execute Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) and Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) product line initiatives, including product planning, strategy, design, roadmap execution, and launch.

Formulate strategies for current and future products, create Market Requirements Documents (MRDs) and Product Requirements Documents (PRDs), and oversee the product lifecycle from development to post-launch support.

Publish and maintain the product roadmap, educating stakeholders on its process and execution. Support product marketing teams in creating strategies, messaging, and materials while driving execution roadmaps to scale up genetic testing and laboratory solutions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Medical Affairs, Sales, Marketing, R&D, Clinical Operations, and Quality Management) to ensure operational and commercial readiness. Commercialize new technologies, such as RNA Sequencing and Optical Genome Mapping (OGM), leading efforts to develop, launch, and scale innovative solutions that address emerging market needs.

Monitor competitors and key players in the industry and conduct market research and feasibility analyses to identify opportunities for new products, working with finance and laboratory teams on costing and value assessments. Gather customer insights through VOC processes, network with KOLs, and monitor market trends to inform product design and anticipate future market needs.

Lead and manage multiple concurrent projects with varying complexity, overcoming obstacles to ensure success.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, manage, and execute WES and WGS product line initiatives from planning through launch and post-launch support.
• Develop and maintain MRDs and PRDs; oversee lifecycle management of products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure operational and commercial readiness.
• Commercialize new technologies (e.g., RNA Sequencing, Optical Genome Mapping) and scale innovative solutions.
• Conduct market research, feasibility analyses, and cost/value assessments with finance and laboratory teams.
• Gather customer insights (VOC), engage with KOLs, and monitor market trends to inform design.
• Publish and educate stakeholders on the product roadmap and execution.
• Support marketing with strategies, messaging, and materials; drive roadmaps to scale genetic testing and laboratory solutions.
• Monitor competitors and industry developments.
• Manage multiple projects with varying complexity and remove obstacles to achieve success.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Master’s degree in Biotechnology.
• Minimum Experience: 5 years in product management/development in molecular diagnostics; experience launching clinical-grade diagnostic genetic testing products; familiarity with transcriptomics and emerging genome sequencing/mapping technologies; involvement in launches for programs such as the Undiagnosed Diseases Network (UDN) backed by NIH.
• Experience creating and executing comprehensive product roadmaps aligned with business objectives and market needs.
• Proficiency with Smartsheet, Tableau, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and JIRA to create, manage, and launch products.
• Experience communicating and presenting complex information to C-suite executives.
• Travel: 25% US Domestic Travel.
