Maintenance Mechanic

We are a leading supplier of pre-packaged cement products, delivering to customers and facilities nationwide. Our terminal location serves as a hub for transportation solutions, including airport operations. We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Mechanic to perform preventative and mechanical maintenance on railcars and equipment used for transporting our cement products. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, takes pride in their work, and thrives in a physically demanding environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs on railcars and equipment.
• Utilize on-site tools, with the grease gun as a critical tool for daily operations.
• Conduct equipment repairs located 26 flights of stairs above the ground floor (occasional requirement; candidates should be physically comfortable navigating stairs).
• Operate and troubleshoot equipment that facilitates the transportation process.
• Perform welding and cutting assignments, including fabrication of plant equipment and structures, as well as repairing worn process equipment to plant standards (welding experience is a must-have).
• Troubleshoot and repair 480V batteries on railcars.
• Assist with pipefitting, plumbing, and lubrication tasks, including inspection and repair of piping systems and oil reservoirs.
• Perform millwright assignments such as bearing replacement, equipment alignment, and power transmission inspections.
• Operate mobile equipment as needed to complete assigned duties.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proficiency in welding and fabrication.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with preventative maintenance practices.
• Ability to perform manual labor, including heavy lifting in a warehouse environment.
• Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and repairs.
• Intermediate-level experience; equipment operating experience is preferred but not required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
