Responsibilities
Educate patients, healthcare workers, and the community about controlling diabetes through nutritional management.

• Coordinate with designated staff to effectively integrate medical nutrition therapy into the overall management of diabetes.
• Provide diabetes education for patients, healthcare workers and the community.
• Encourage the diabetes team to support and reinforce nutrition prescriptions and to help patients manage their meal plans.
• Supervise the planned education process for the goals of medical nutrition therapy for diabetes.
• Reinforce diabetes education and instruction to the staff and implements and monitors educational plan of care.
• Coordinate with healthcare providers including receiving and writing orders to ensure effective and efficient patient care and achievement of desired patient outcomes.

Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Dietitian/Nutritionist credentialed from the Florida Council of Dietetics and Nutrition obtained
  within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
