Design Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our engineering team, specializing in conveyor layout and design projects. You will be responsible for supporting both pre-design and post-design phases, ensuring seamless execution from concept development through project completion. The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in design software and a solid understanding of mechanical systems used in parcel, distribution, and e-commerce environments.

Responsibilities Include

  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop conveyor system layouts and mechanical designs based on customer requirements and site constraints.

  Lead design efforts from initial concept through final implementation, including drawing creation, design reviews, and field coordination.

  Utilize AutoCAD 2D, SolidWorks, Inventor, Navisworks 3D, and/or Revit to produce accurate and detailed design documentation.

  Participate in site visits and client meetings to gather project requirements and validate design feasibility.

  Support project managers during installation and commissioning phases, ensuring design intent is maintained.

  Coordinate with permitting teams and regulatory bodies to ensure designs meet applicable codes and standards.

  Provide technical support and revisions throughout the project lifecycle, including post-installation adjustments and optimization.

Skills & Qualifications

• n

  Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field preferred

• n

  3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in conveyor systems or material handling equipment.

  Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, Navisworks 3D, and/or Revit.

• n

  Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, fabrication methods, and construction processes.

• n

  Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• n

  Willingness to travel up to 25% for site visits, client meetings, and project support.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $50.00/hr.
