Job Title: Design Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to create detailed 3D models and assembly drawings using SolidWorks. The primary focus will be on designing and developing complete chassis systems, chassis components, chassis cabs, and other mechanical parts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design and be proficient in 3D solid modeling. Collaboration with the shop floor to verify fit and function and ensure accurate translation into physical components is essential.

  Ensure that all designs meet project deadlines and accuracy standards.

Essential Skills

• n

  5+ years of experience in mechanical design using SolidWorks 3D.

• n

  Experience designing fabricated metal components.

  n
n
• n

  Experience working on the manufacturing floor to support troubleshooting.

• n

  Understanding of tolerance standards (ANSI/ASME, GD&T).

• n

  Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  Experience creating Bills of Materials (BOM).

• n

  Experience with air and hydraulic schematics.

  Experience in heavy truck or transportation chassis design.

Work Environment

You will work in the engineering building alongside a team of engineers, primarily designing at a cubicle with some interaction on the shop floor to ensure accuracy and troubleshoot. The team consists of 10 engineers, including 8 Design Engineers and 2 Electrical Engineers. The position operates on a flexible schedule, Monday to Friday, 7 or 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, with the possibility of a four-day workweek after the first day. There are 6 holidays observed, with no PTO offered.

This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $46.00/hr.
