Delivery Driver - Cover Position

7:15am-3:45pm/Monday-Friday

$3,000 Retention Bonus available ($1500 at 90 days and $1500 at 180 days of service).

Your Key Responsibilities:

As a Cover Delivery Driver, you will take on varied route assignments to fill in for team members on leave at least 50% of the time. Your mission is to provide exceptional customer service by resolving issues and processing product returns as needed.

In this role, you will safely transport products and deliver office supplies to customers along your designated route. Depending on workload, you may also load your vehicle. You will efficiently organize and load products for delivery, utilizing a manifest to optimize your route.

You will act as a problem solver for our customers, providing support, accepting returns, and ensuring a positive experience. As our representative on the road, you play a crucial role in the success of Staples Supply Chain.

What You Bring to the Team:

• A safe and courteous driving demeanor with the ability to navigate various weather and road conditions.

• Proficiency in software applications, including basic Microsoft Office skills (Word and Excel).
• Comfort with technology, including GPS and mobile Proof of Delivery (POD) devices.

• A proactive attitude toward vehicle cleanliness, performing pre-trip inspections, and reporting maintenance needs.

Basic Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record acceptable to the company.
• Able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen (No THC) as legally permitted.
• Obtain a 6-month DOT medical card specific to the role.
• Basic English language skills (verbal and written).
• Full-Time associates must be willing to work additional hours beyond the scheduled shift when necessary.
• Ability to lift up to 70lbs, push/pull items weighing up to 400 lbs with assistance, and occasionally manage up to 130 lbs.
• Safety composite shoes required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 1-year experience driving a truck (16ft or longer straight truck) or comparable driving experience.
• Experience with high volume/small package deliveries.
