As a Decision Scientist you will drive data-driven decision-making and influence business strategy through advanced analytics. You will lead analytics projects to understand the relationships between our 1P and 3P businesses, the effectiveness of sales and promo strategies, the performance of various segments of our assortment, and value targeting and measurement of various other growth tactics. The Go to Market Strategic Analytics team is responsible for performing advanced analytics, measurement, and decision support for Best Buy's non-retail customer-facing experiences (Digital, Category, Marketplace, Services, and Support). This role will be focused on driving our Share Growth strategies and supporting our 1P and 3P category teams who make decisions regarding vendor partnerships, assortment, pricing, and customer experiences. This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days at our corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota, and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

What you'll do:

• Influence cross-functional teams by providing compelling data-driven insights that guide strategic decisions.
• Act as a trusted advisor to the business team, using data analytics to challenge assumptions, identify opportunities, and drive strategic initiatives.
• Present complex analytics results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, crafting clear, persuasive narratives that drive action.
• Keep abreast of new theories, strategies and best practices in the industry and think beyond current knowledge and existing assumptions to develop new solutions, applications and strategies

Basic qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, or similar field with quantitative rigor
• 3 or more years of experience in retail, analytics, business, or related area
• 3 or more years of experience applying analytical techniques to answer business questions or scientific questions
• 1 or more years of experience leveraging data science and data visualization tools, such as SQL, Tableau/PowerBI, SAS, R and/or Python

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, or similar field with quantitative rigor
• 1 or more years of experience influencing and presenting to all levels of the organization
• Demonstrated success collaborating/influencing cross functional business teams/decisions
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex data into impactful business insights.
• Advanced stakeholder management and relationship building skills, with the ability to build consensus and drive cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong project management skills, capable of balancing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality results on time.
