Role Overview

As a Data Scientist, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team focusing on Physics (Hydrodynamics, Acoustics, RF, and EO/IR propagation) and Machine Learning. Your work will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and delivering state-of-the-art signal processing solutions to critical national challenges.

Your Contributions

• Develop and deploy machine learning solutions, whether utilizing off-the-shelf tools or customizing them to fit specific requirements, backed by rigorous data analysis.

• Apply advanced statistical methods to analyze unstructured and classified big data, transforming it into meaningful insights that drive decision-making.

• Engage with a diverse team of scientists, engineers, researchers, and program managers to explore and develop machine learning solutions for emerging problems.

• Commit to continuous learning in AI/ML and data science trends to ensure innovative and effective solutions.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience.

• Proven understanding of machine learning theory, concepts, and algorithms.

• Proficiency in modern data exploration techniques and tools.

• Experience in developing and implementing machine learning models.

• Familiarity with AI/ML algorithms and libraries.

• Fluency in C/C++ and Python.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Required on-site full-time work in San Diego, CA.

• Must hold an active US Government Top Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in developing data science solutions through research.

• Ability to implement advanced physical and mathematical concepts in software applications.

• Experience working with active or passive sensor data, along with relevant signal processing techniques.

• Familiarity with Large Language Model (LLM) development and deployment.

• Basic knowledge of Fortran or Matlab.
