Position Purpose:

The Data Science Specialist plays a crucial role in advancing data science projects that enhance business profitability, boost operational efficiencies, and elevate customer experiences. By utilizing state-of-the-art analytical techniques and handling large datasets, you'll extract valuable insights and creatively address business challenges. This role also involves documenting developed algorithms for future use. Depending on the team's focus, expertise in areas such as optimization, computer vision, recommendation systems, search, or natural language processing (NLP) may be required.

As a Data Science Specialist, you will employ advanced analytics to uncover trends and deliver actionable business solutions. You will be expected to articulate insights to non-technical stakeholders, highlighting the benefits and potential impact of your proposals. Collaboration is key, as you will work alongside business partners and cross-functional teams, necessitating strong communication skills and the ability to foster productive relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• 55% Solution Development - Design and implement algorithms and models using extensive datasets to derive valuable business insights. Act as a technical lead on analytics projects and contribute to team efforts effectively, ensuring high-quality and efficient execution of tasks while employing appropriate analytical techniques.
• 20% Communicating Results - Clearly present insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, confidently influencing decision-making. Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to keep project teams and partners informed on project statuses and insights.
• 10% Business Collaboration - Integrate business acumen into solution strategies and cultivate trust-based relationships with internal teams and partners. Collaborate with project teams to align on objectives.
• 15% Technical Exploration & Development - Pursue continuous knowledge growth in data science, technical capabilities, and emerging data sources. Contribute to the improvement of analytics processes by creating reusable solutions and maintaining a comprehensive library of documented algorithms.

• This position typically reports to a managerial role or higher.
• This position has no direct reports.

Travel Requirements:

• Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

• Most of the time involves sitting comfortably with opportunities to move. Rarely, you may need to lift light objects.

Working Conditions:

• Work is primarily conducted indoors in a comfortable environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be legally allowed to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Math, Statistics) or corresponding work experience.
• 4+ years of experience in business intelligence and analytics.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience in a modern scripting language (preferably Python).
• Proficient in querying data (preferably using Google BigQuery or SQL).
• Familiar with data visualization tools (preferably Tableau).
• Adept in statistical methods to derive insights addressing business challenges.
• Knowledgeable in prescriptive modeling areas like optimization, computer vision, recommendation systems, search, or NLP.
• Proven experience in predictive modeling, data mining, and analytics.

Minimum Education:

• Acquired knowledge, skills, and abilities through a bachelor's degree or equivalent education in a relevant field.

Minimum Years of Work Experience:

• 3 years.
