Senior Data Engineer Big Data & Analytics (Contract)

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and operation of high-performance data-centric solutions. This role will support a large-scale data platform initiative, leveraging big data and cloud technologies to enable advanced analytics and reporting capabilities.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in building scalable data pipelines, transforming and aggregating data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and sustainable solutions. This is a hybrid role with onsite work required 3 days per week at the Wayzata, MN campus.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and aggregation
• Develop technical solutions using big data and cloud-based technologies
• Perform data modeling and prepare data for analytics tools
• Collaborate with analysts, product teams, and business stakeholders to define requirements
• Drive adoption of new technologies and engineering best practices
• Build prototypes and contribute to core infrastructure improvements
• Provide technical support throughout the solution lifecycle

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of experience in data engineering or software development
• Experience with big data platforms and cloud environments
• Strong skills in data modeling, pipeline development, and performance optimization

Preferred Skills

• Experience with reporting tools and diverse data sources
• Background in full lifecycle application development (design, coding, testing, deployment)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
