Data Center Technical Operations Engineer

Apex Systems is hiring for a Data Center Technical Operations Engineer in Canton, MS. The Data Center Technical Operations Engineer will be responsible for engineering operations within an Amazon Data Center. This includes risk management and mitigation, maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management, and performance reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage on-site shift technicians, senior technicians, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure compliance with established procedures.
• Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on critical facility operations and maintenance.
• Collaborate with IT managers and business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency.
• Operate and manage routine and emergency services on critical systems such as:
  • Switchgear
  • Generators
  • UPS systems
  • Power distribution equipment
  • Chillers
  • Cooling towers
  • Computer room air handlers
  • Building monitoring systems
• Assist in the design and build-out of new facilities and projects aimed at increasing facility efficiency.
• Manage assets and inventory.
• Support recruiting efforts.
• Deliver high-quality service and ensure customer demands are met.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or Technical (Military/Trade School) Degree with relevant experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Data Center Engineering experience.
• Data Center Management experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Fundamental knowledge of network design and layout, including low voltage (copper/fiber) cabling.
