Data Center Manager

Overview

Work with a world class team to develop, implement, and support cutting edge Oracle technology. Manages a team supporting and/or implementing hardware and software project(s) and/or internal systems. Defines, documents and manages scope, expectations, implementation approach, deliverables and acceptance testing criteria. Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas or sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet corporate specifications. Successful track record in applications implementation and as a manager. Expert knowledge of all applications within a business area; plus some knowledge of other applications. BA/BS degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop teams supporting and/or implementing multi-functional and/or multi-location projects and/or systems. Defines, documents, and manages scope, expectations, implementation approach, results and acceptance testing criteria. Develops and leads an effective risk mitigation strategy for the project(s).
• Assists in the development of short-, medium-, and long-term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations. Successful track record as a manager. Detailed knowledge of technical and business concepts of several related applications areas. BA/BS degree preferred.
• Be a part of our organization supporting hyper scale distributed infrastructure for the cloud. Oracle’s Data Center team is rapidly expanding with new regions and sites across AMER each month. This role involves launching new sites and their growth, and involves team building across an entire organization in relation to recruiting, interviewing, and growing careers within the Data Center Organization.
• Lead the teams responsible for building and supporting our cloud data centers in the United States. Manage the available sites, the teams that operate these sites, and the colocation partners used.
• Lead a multi-discipline team at scale within a Cloud Data Center space. Demonstrate strong people management ability and a deep technical grounding in the physical aspects of IT Service Delivery.
• Typical day-to-day functions include managing operations of Data Center sites in a 24/7 environment; supervising data center technicians; coordinating hardware installation and repair activities; ensuring timely delivery of services to meet project milestones; guiding project managers on-the-ground; upholding quality benchmarks for new sites/regions/deployments; and driving improvements with detailed feedback in reviews and post-mortems. Interact across Engineering, Build, Site Selection, and Business Operations; manage incidents and drive resolutions.

Qualifications

Experience leading and managing teams in data center or cloud infrastructure contexts; strong knowledge of hardware (servers, storage, networking) and related operations. Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills. BA/BS degree preferred.

Benefits and Additional Information

• US: Hiring Range in USD from: $80,000 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity. Oracle maintains broad salary ranges to account for knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, locations, products, and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on these factors and internal peer equity.
