Job Summary
The CT Technologist operates computed tomography (CT) scanners to produce diagnostic images that assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. This role involves preparing patients for imaging procedures, ensuring image quality and safety standards, and collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver accurate and timely imaging services.

Key Responsibilities

P repare patients for CT procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring patient safety.

Operate CT equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images according to physician specifications.

Position patients correctly and administer contrast agents when required, monitoring for adverse reactions.

Maintain accurate patient records and document procedures performed.

Follow radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and self.

Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure diagnostic quality.

Perform routine maintenance and quality control on CT equipment.

Adhere to HIPAA and institutional policies regarding patient confidentiality.

Participate in continuing education and stay current with advances in CT technology and best practices.

Required Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Current certification and registration as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT or equivalent).

Specialized certification in Computed Tomography (CT) required or must be obtained within a specified timeframe.

Minimum 1â€“2 years of experience as a CT Technologist preferred.

Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

Excellent patient care and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a hospital or outpatient imaging center setting.

Familiarity with PACS and electronic health records (EHR) systems.

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.

Certifications

ARRT Certification in Radiography (required).

ARRT Certification in Computed Tomography (CT) (required or within 12 months of hire).

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (preferred).
