POSITION SUMMARY

As a CT Technologist, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality imaging CT procedures to our patients and physicians. Your work will be conducted in a respectful and efficient manner, ensuring safety and cleanliness in our environment.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Formal Education / Training:

• Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology with accreditation from The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Compliance with CE requirements is mandatory.
• Registration in the subspecialty of CT or registry eligible, with the target of passing the CT registry within six months of hire date.
• BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.

Workplace Experience:
We prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a hospital environment working with CT after graduation, but we are willing to train new graduates.

Equipment and Skills Training:
Knowledge of CT scanning is essential, and experience with GE CT equipment is a plus. Training will be provided on the specific equipment and procedures utilized at Williamson Health.

Physical Environment:
Practices radiation safety and universal precautions in a multi-modality imaging department.

Physical Effort:
The role requires the ability to perform multiple tasks, including assisting patients from wheelchairs and stretchers to tables, lifting up to 20 pounds, and clear communication with patients and colleagues. You must also be ready to make sound judgments in urgent situations and maintain emotional stability in daily interactions. A willingness to take on call for STAT, urgent, or routine studies after hours and on weekends is necessary.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

1. Verify patient identification and physician orders before proceeding with any study.
2. Document pregnancy status for female patients between the ages of 12-50 accurately.
3. Document all relevant details regarding allergies and medical history for patients receiving intravenous contrast media.
4. Ensure proper radiation safety for self and others, adhering to ALARA guidelines and patient comfort.
5. Effectively communicate any issues or opportunities for care improvement.
6. Maintain patient dignity by ensuring proper coverage during exams and transport.
7. Regularly check on patients in waiting areas for comfort and pain management.
8. Exhibit leadership and teamwork in challenging situations while making informed decisions.
9. Be proactive in volunteering for overtime or fill-in opportunities when necessary.
10. Safely assist patients throughout their movements between equipment and tables.
11. Consistently perform high-quality imaging studies.
12. Collaborate effectively with other employees to optimize equipment use and complete all physician and patient requests efficiently.
