Job Title: CT Imaging Technologist

Hours Per Week: 32 weekly scheduled hours

Schedule: 7a-11p, Saturday & Sunday

SUMMARY:

Join our team as a CT Imaging Technologist where you will play a vital role in performing diagnostic imaging procedures using our advanced computed tomography (CT) equipment. Your expertise will assist physicians in accurately diagnosing and monitoring patients' medical conditions. In this rewarding position, you will prepare patients for scans, operate high-tech imaging machinery, ensure the acquisition of high-quality images, and provide a safe and comfortable environment for patients. You will collaborate closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient care while adhering to established protocols and radiation safety regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assess physician orders for diagnostic CT procedures by reading charts, prescriptions, and radiology requests.
• Gather important clinical information and follow specific physician requests.
• Prepare contrast media per physician orders or departmental guidelines.
• Verify patient identity before conducting procedures.
• Initiate life support measures when necessary.
• Assist in lifting and moving patients and ensure proper immobilization during scans.
• Conduct diagnostic CT procedures at a technical level under the direction of a radiologist.
• Identify any abnormalities or physiological changes during CT scans, taking initiative to obtain additional views or scans as needed.
• Select technical factors and imaging modes tailored to individual patients.
• Practice aseptic techniques diligently.
• Administer or inject intravenous contrast media as ordered, ensuring compliance with regulations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduation from an AMA approved program in Radiological Technology.
• Current New York State licensure or permit to practice as a Radiological Technologist.
• Ability to think and act quickly to provide effective, quality patient care.
• Strong reading and deductive skills for interpreting physician requests and problem-solving.
• Sensitivity and interpersonal skills to handle apprehensive patients compassionately and professionally.
• Positive communication skills for engaging with physicians and staff in sensitive situations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• CT Registry with AART certification.
• IV certification from New York State.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Requires lifting 20 to 50 pounds occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, and more than negligible up to 10 pounds constantly; involves frequent walking, standing, or squatting.

PAY RANGE:

$31.80 - $42.99
This base pay range represents current potential compensation for a successful full-time applicant, subject to future modifications and additional pay components based on factors such as experience and qualifications.
