As a Crate Builder, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling the metal framework of doors and windows for buildings. Your duties will include installing hardware such as locks, lock sets, and hinging, as well as working with storefront aluminum extrusions. You will develop layouts and plan sequences of operations, perform layout and prepare framing, and set up and operate various fabricating machines.

Responsibilities:

• Fabricate and assemble metal framework for doors and windows.
• Install hardware including locks, lock sets, and hinging.
• Develop layouts and plan sequences of operations.
• Perform layout and prepare framing.
• Set up and operate fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, radial arm saws, drill presses, mitre saws, and milling machines.
• Cut, bend, and straighten metal using saws, hammers, and grinders.
• Drill holes and fasten materials together with screws.
• Safely operate basic power tools.

Essential Skills:

• Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings.
• Proficiency in using a tape measure.
• Prior experience in carpentry or metal assembly.
• Ability to apply quality control standards to products.
• Meeting attendance requirements.
• Ability to work professionally with others.
• Capable of following instructions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• No medical certifications required.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided.

Work Environment:

The work will be conducted at a warehouse located in Oshkosh, with very minimal travel required to install metal door and window frames in the surrounding area. The environment is structured to support efficient work processes with the use of various fabricating machines and tools. PPE will be provided to ensure safety.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Neenah, Wisconsin.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
