Cook/prep Cook (Starting ASAP)

You will accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special catered events. This role requires serving approximately 150 transactions per day, with a mix of made-to-order meals and bulk cooking. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 10 am to 6:30 pm.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food items for different meal periods including breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
• Serve lunch and dinner services efficiently.
• Ensure accurate portioning and presentation of meals.
• Participate in special and catered events.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
• Provide excellent customer service to guests and staff.

Essential Skills

• Experience in foodservice, food preparation, line cooking, and food production.
• 1+ years of experience in a cooking facility.
• Proficient knife skills.
• Customer service oriented.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• ServSafe certification preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Slip-resistant shoes required.

Work Environment

This role is based in a rehab hospital with a capacity of 160 beds. The work environment demands attention to cleanliness, safety, and customer service. Attire includes slip-resistant shoes for safety.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.90 - $21.90/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
