Continuous Improvement Engineer – Job Description
nThis role leads continuous improvement initiatives within the Casting business, which serves the aerospace, automotive, and industrial markets. The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for facilitating cross-functional teams by applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance turnaround times, optimize throughput, support Theory of Constraints (TOC) practices, and drive cost reductions. The projects undertaken are typically of moderate complexity and require a well-rounded skill set in problem solving, analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.
nKey Responsibilities:
nThis position works closely with site leadership to identify improvement opportunities that align with both site-level priorities and overall business objectives. The engineer supports the development and deployment of improvement strategies, as well as the training of team members on new or enhanced processes.
nLeading and coordinating improvement initiatives is central to the role, with a focus on achieving measurable business outcomes. The engineer acts as a catalyst for change, ensuring that projects deliver sustainable results and align with organizational goals.
nAdditional Responsibilities:
nThe role may include various tasks within the facility that support broader operational or strategic needs.
nQualifications:
nA background in Business Management or Industrial Engineering is essential. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in analytical problem-solving, including the use of statistical methods, financial analysis, or engineering-based modeling.
nHands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies is highly valuable, particularly within aerospace, automotive, or high-volume manufacturing environments. Familiarity with tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen events, Cellular Flow, Single-Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED), Process Flow Mapping, Kanban systems, Hoshin planning, and Visual Controls is important for success in this role.
nStrong interpersonal and communication skills are required, along with the ability to lead, influence, and gain consensus across all levels of the organization. The engineer should also have solid computer proficiency, particularly with tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Minitab.
nA demonstrated ability to lead continuous improvement efforts with tangible, sustained results is essential. This includes fostering a culture of engagement, accountability, and operational excellence across all functions.
nCompensation: for this role would pay between $90k-$100k with a complete benefit package including health, life, dental and vision insurance and a bonus plus 401k match. Relocation also if you qualify.
nPay Details: $90,000.00 to $100,000.00 per year
