Construction Inspector

We are seeking a dedicated Construction Inspector to oversee contractor activities on various projects throughout Central Ohio. The role involves ensuring compliance with approved plans, specifications, and applicable codes for the construction of streets, stormwater systems, sanitary sewers, and waterlines. While prior inspection experience is preferred, it is not mandatory. However, strong experience in construction and the ability to interpret blueprints are essential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of construction activities related to streets, stormwater drainage, sanitary sewer systems, and waterline installations.
• Monitor contractor work for compliance with engineering plans, specifications, and regulatory standards.
• Verify proper materials, installation techniques, and workmanship.
• Maintain detailed field notes, inspection logs, and photographic records.
• Prepare daily and weekly inspection reports summarizing progress, issues, and corrective actions.
• Communicate findings to project managers, engineers, and contractors.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents and blueprints.
• Experience working on a job site.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Prior construction inspection experience is preferred but not required.
• OSHA or other relevant certifications are a plus.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
